MEET DR. JULIA SCHWARTZ
Dr. Julia Schwartz is a board-certified dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). After graduating cum laude with honors in psychology at the University of Washington (UW), Dr. Schwartz decided to pursue a career in medicine. During her medical school training at the UW School of Medicine, she rotated through several specialties before falling in love with the field of dermatology. She went on to do her internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center and then her Dermatology Residency at George Washington University, where she also served as chief resident. Additionally, she did a dermato-pharmacology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Skin Studies where she worked on several clinical trials primarily focusing on biologic medications. She has published numerous peer-reviewed research papers and has spoken at several national meetings. She won the Dermatology Resident in Distinction Award in 2016 and the Rising Derm Stars award in 2018.
Dr. Schwartz relocated to Puerto Rico in 2018. She initially started her practice making dermatology house calls in the Dorado community and eventually spread her direct pay practice model to the San Juan/Guaynabo area. After serving the community for nearly 4 years, Dr. Schwartz founded Dorado Dermatology in early 2023. She sees patients out of her home office and continues to make house calls. She does medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology for all ages, including children.
She resides in Dorado Beach with her husband, their two young daughters, and two adopted cats. She is an avid reader of fiction, foodie, and when she can find the time, she loves to binge watch a good TV show.
